BRAVO Ph 96 hour Capsule Study
A monitoring procedure that uses a wireless esophageal pH capsule to test the amount of stomach acid that refluxes up into the esophagus over a 96-hour period.
Capsule Endoscopy
A procedure that uses a small wireless camera to take pictures of the gastrointestinal tract. The purpose is to examine the lining of the middle part of GI tract to identify problematic areas.

EGD (Esophagogastro-duodenoscopy)
A diagnostic endoscopic procedure that visualizes the upper part of the GI tract consisting of the esophagus, stomach, and the small intestine.
Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty
A weight loss procedure that uses an endoscopic suturing device to reduce the size of the stomach. The procedure recreates what would occur at a surgical sleeve gastrectomy though without the need for surgery.
Endoscopic Ultrasound with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), Celiac Pain Block
A procedure that uses sound waves to look at or through the wall of the GI tract, creating visibility into organs not typically visible during gastrointestinal endoscopy. During the procedure, a thin needle can be advanced into the body to obtain an aspirate of the tissue.
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-pancreatogram)
A procedure that combines the use of endoscopy and fluoroscopy to diagnose and treat certain problems of the biliary or pancreatic ductal systems.
Esophageal, Gastric, Duodenal,
and Colonic Stent
A non-surgical procedure used to alleviate an obstruction caused by a cancerous tumor within the digestive tract, including the upper GI tract, (esophagus, stomach, and small intestine) and lower GI tract (colon and rectum).
Esophageal Manometry
A test that assesses the functionality of the upper esophageal sphincter, esophageal body, and lower esophageal sphincter in the upper GI tract.
Esophageal Stricture Dilation
A procedure used to widen a narrowed section of the esophagus to provide relief when having difficulty swallowing.
EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)
A procedure in which endoscopy is combined with ultrasound to obtain images of the internal organs in the chest, abdomen and colon. It can be used to visualize the walls of the organs or to look at adjacent structures.
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
A minimally invasive exam of the large intestine from the rectum through the lower colon using a scope to visually examine the area.
Intragastric Balloon Placement
A weight-loss procedure that involves placing a saline-filled silicone balloon into the stomach after being inserted orally through the esophagus.
